Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Lead Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of litigation support, including document preparation, filing, and management of case files
- Draft and revise legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence in accordance with court rules and procedures
- Assist attorneys in case preparation by conducting legal research and summarizing findings
- Manage discovery processes, including the organization of exhibits, maintaining calendars for deadlines, and tracking case developments
- Work closely with clients, witnesses, and expert consultants to facilitate communication and information gathering
- Oversee junior legal assistants, providing mentorship and guidance on best practices in litigation support
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or a similar role within a law firm
- Proficient understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with e-discovery tools and case management software
- Certification as a paralegal or completion of a legal assistant program is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with legal research databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Experience with case management software and electronic filing systems
