Casualty/Financial Lines Facultative Broker

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Broker to join Guy Carpenter in Sydney or Melbourne. This is an ideal role for a financial lines or cyber broker looking to transition into the reinsurance market, or for a reinsurance broker looking to join a global leader.
Working within the facultative team, you will be responsible for the growth, profitability and client satisfaction of a book of business containing a range of multinational and local insurer clients. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client's trusted advisor, and pursuing new business development.
You will collaborate with colleagues in the Asia Pacific region, working with and learning from industry leading experts in the field.

We will count on you to:
Develop relationships with new and existing clients, as well as other reinsurers
Execute client proposals, presentations, market submissions
Support business development and revenue production in facultative business for Australia, with focus in casualty/financial lines
Utilise risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance market to review clients’ exposures and develop solutions for client needs
Work with treaty, technical support and placement teams to ensure a quality process
Ensure that all business operations and documentation are conducted in a compliant, courteous and professional manner
Maintain comprehensive correspondence and contractual documentation files
Liaise with GC global network in obtaining expertise and support
Provide technical training to clients and colleagues
Demonstrate proficient awareness of market conditions to better serve clients and inform more junior brokers on market trends
What you need to have:
5-10 years’ experience within insurance broking or underwriting
Knowledge of Reinsurance and Casualty insurance is desirable
Ability to read and interpret Financial Lines policy wordings
Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
