What this position entails

The Milliman IntelliScript suite of software products provides intelligent analysis of prescription histories and other medical data. Offering tremendous ROI, our proprietary Curv® system provides our clients with intelligent analysis of data. Curv combines the rich data of prescription and claims histories with the power of predictive modeling assess morbidity risk more accurately for health plans without access to populations claims history. By transforming census data into a powerful risk score, the Curv product line allows health plans to predict a future claim costs and morbidity more accurately. The Senior Actuarial Analysts on this team play an important role in supporting day-today activities, collaborating with internal teams and producing client studies and deliverables.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creative problem solving using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to organize and analyze information
  • Automation and efficiency improvement of tools through VBA, databricks or other approaches
  • Communicate results in well written reports and presentations in a clear and concise manner
  • Anticipate and address questions that will arise during business review and client delivery
  • Use discretion and independent judgment to determine how to complete assigned projects, subject to peer review
  • Work with internal and external clients to create client deliverables, including studies, pilots, projects, and research on a variety of different products and models.
  • Balance numerous projects/tasks with varying deadlines and difficulty without sacrificing quality of work.
  • Check and validate peers’ work and results

What we need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or other major with quantitative course work
  • 4 or more successfully completed actuarial exams (demonstrated exam success)
  • 2 - 6 years of work experience in the actuarial profession
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SQL
  • Exposure R, VBA, Databricks or other similar software / languages(s)

Location and Compensation

The expected application deadline for this job is August 30, 2024. This position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI as needed and travel nationwide for meetings, conferences, and team events.

The salary range is $63,000 to $146,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, skills, certifications, and location. If relevant experience is less than 3 years the range would be $63,000 to $131,000; for experience of greater than 4 years, the range would be $70,000 to $146,000. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus plan, profit sharing, and generous benefits.
