Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hemodialysis Technician to join our dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the operation of hemodialysis equipment, ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care and safety protocols. Your expertise will be critical in leading a team of technicians while optimizing treatment workflows and maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the hemodialysis unit, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge in hemodialysis procedures
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care quality, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules, performing troubleshooting and coordinating repairs for hemodialysis machines
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient records and treatment logs, adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with nephrologists and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to clinical audits to enhance service delivery
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hemodialysis, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Certification as a Hemodialysis Technician (e.g., CCHT or CHT)
- In-depth knowledge of dialysis equipment, protocols, and patient care standards
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related health field
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Familiarity with current regulations and best practices in patient safety and infection control
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of hemodialysis machines and associated equipment
- Strong understanding of water treatment systems and their role in dialysis
- Ability to analyze clinical data and utilize EMR systems for patient management
