Compensation

ACE is committed to paying a competitive wage while staying true to our mission of maintaining high quality, affordable programs for our students. The starting salary range for this position is $70,000 plus all full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus. Offers vary depending on education, prior experience, and expertise being applied to the role.

Day to Day Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Director of Credit for Prior Learning, you are charged with creating and maintaining an open, collaborative, collegial, transparent, and inclusive college setting dedicated to enhancing the achievement, satisfaction, and success of students who receive credit for prior learning.

In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas:

Process Development & Project Management

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge related to credit for prior learning programs and processes.
  • Provides administrative support of all aspects related to credit for prior learning planning, training, and assessment.
  • Maintains, updates, and coordinates the dissemination of collateral regarding current practices, policies, and procedures for the awarding of Credit for Prior Learning (CPL).
  • Maintains a CPL repository, tools, and training for faculty, staff, registrar's office, and other internal stakeholders to improve and facilitate the CPL process.
  • Demonstrates project management skills by coordinating and directing faculty evaluators within the college to ensure relevant and timely credit for prior learning assessments are conducted.
  • Participates in growth planning initiatives through reviewing credit for prior learning processes and systems for efficiency.
  • Applies current best practices in prior learning assessment, online learning, adult learning theory, and andragogy/pedagogy.
  • Maintains current knowledge of policies and best practices (CAEL, Council for Adult and Experiential Learning) related to aligning learning and work remain current in the credit for prior learning field.

Program Initiatives:

  • Coordinates credit for prior learning assessments/evaluations, collaborating with team members across the institution to ensure an efficient, comprehensive assessment of opportunities, documentation of decisions, and availability of information to key stakeholders who need the information for student-facing and partnership work.
  • Ensures Credit for Prior Learning initiatives, development project timelines are met, and deliverables meet quality expectations of the college.
  • Leads and coaches American College of Education (ACE) faculty assessors through the credit for prior learning process by facilitating ACE Faculty Assessor training.
  • Assists in assessing credit for prior learning submissions as applicable.
  • Manages CPL and PLA processes, procedures, practices, and policies to ensure consistency between policy and practice while ensuring we maintain compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrates project management software skills to coordinate project workflows, document timelines, assign tasks to team members, and cross-check program and course launch deadlines with project statuses for on-time completion.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Provosts and Department Chairs, faculty assessors, registrar's office, partnership organizations, industry organizations, and other key stakeholders for assessment and determination of course credit for prior learning opportunities.

Compliance:

  • Ensures policies, processes, and procedures align, and ensures compliance with regulatory statutes and accreditation requirements.
  • Supports program plans and expectations across the college by aligning mission and vision and determining the impact of institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, curriculum development, or related field required; terminal degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in credit for prior learning program design and evaluating curriculum for evidence of student learning at various levels
  • 5+ years’ experience in education
  • Demonstrated experience in higher education, curriculum design (organizing learning objectives, materials, and activities) and development (planning, implementation, and evaluation), or other experience working in a higher education administrative role that involves assessment of programs, students, outcomes, or a related area strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and accrediting agencies standards related to CPL.
  • Demonstrated understanding of workforce issues and the impact on CPL and higher education for adult learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop processes, streamline assessment, and expand the use of credit for prior learning within higher education.
  • Experience with institutional accreditation (i.e., HLC) and program or discipline specific accreditation agencies in education, nursing, healthcare, and business areas (e.g., CCNE, CAHME, ACBSP, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to think strategically and tactfully.
  • Actively seeks to influence, build effective relationships, and gain alignment with peers, functional partners and/or external partners to accomplish business objectives.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing relevant internal and external data to drive effective decision making.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, scheduling, and use of technology to improve processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Employs a service-oriented mindset and supports a collaborative environment through intentionally working across departments and with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community to help departments build connections and share resources more efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel as needed.
