Nursa is a healthcare platform that directly addresses the severe staffing challenges confronting the U.S. healthcare system by connecting qualified registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) seeking flexible work with facilities in need of help. Founded in 2019, we are a rapidly expanding venture backed startup whose mission is to put a nurse at the bedside of every patient in need. With your help, we will be able to enrich the lives of nurses and be a valued partner in delivering effective, compassionate patient care in every market we serve.

Role overview:

As Nursa continues to drive business growth, the company is seeking experienced General Managers (GMs) to oversee our Nursa business in various states. The GM, Midwest will be directly responsible for growing and expanding Nursa’s business on the ground in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Ohio and Kentucky. You will oversee Nursa’s P&L in the region, as well as customer acquisition, retention, engagement, and metric success. You will build and lead a team responsible for end-to-end business performance. This is a unique opportunity to set and execute on a vision for a high-growth company in a fast-moving, dynamic, and multi-sided marketplace.

This role can be based in any of the aforementioned states. Between 25-50% of your time may be spent traveling between your markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Absolute, personal ownership over business results. You will stop at nothing to ensure your region is successful.

  • P&L ownership, with the ability to demonstrate accountability to top-line and bottom-line results for your region. You will be responsible for growing revenue, profits, consumers, and consumer engagement in a highly competitive space.

  • Develop a vision for your regional team, with a roadmap on how to achieve it.

  • Take ownership over Nursa’s growth and persevere through any challenge to complete the task.

  • Establish a strong point of view on what your regional strategy needs to be and how you will achieve success. As part of this, you will deeply understand your region’s competitive landscape and will develop a perspective on how to differentiate (e.g., pricing strategies, customer experience tactics).

  • Establish a culture of excellence. You’ll build a team who hustles and is data-driven in their thinking.

  • Build a stellar team of operators and problem solvers who will deliver on results for growth (supply and demand), and customer success. You’ll inspire and motivate your team to achieve your vision.

  • Work strategically with other leaders and peers in data, product, engineering, marketing and corporate functions to collaboratively set key performance indicators and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of professional work experience, 3+ of those years ideally in consulting, strategy, investment banking, business intelligence, or related field. High-growth operations or startup experience preferred

  • Previous P&L ownership experience

  • Entrepreneurial spriting, with an apt for business creativity and an “execution is everything” attitude. A “no excuses” mindset.

  • Proven ability to design and build strategies, partnering with other functions such as Product

  • Experience operating in two-sided marketplaces

  • MBA a plus

What you get in return:

  • Opportunity to revolutionize healthcare industry and build both relationships and teams that make a tangible impact

  • We empower team members to act intelligently and be owners, believing that execution is everything, and have designed a learning-focused environment where you get ongoing support and regular feedback to help you grow

  • An opportunity to join an international team with a work culture that is based on trust, flexibility, and curiosity

  • Competitive salary and benefits
