About the Role:

The Controller is a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the organization's entire accounting function and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position plays a vital role in supporting financial decision-making and safeguarding company assets. The role reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and publish timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Work with the enterprise systems team to manage and maintain accounting software systems.
  • Manage the year-end external audit and liaise with auditors.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Finance team to support analyzing financial data and preparing reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Manage accounting staff.
  • Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and regulations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems.
  • Partner with other departments (e.g., sales, operations) to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field, CPA strongly preferred .
  • Minimum of 8-10+ years with a mix of Big 4 and industry experience preferred; health care experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and creating written and oral communications and presentations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Airbase, and Expensify is a plus
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
