The position:

The Network Administrator will assist the IT Manager with implementing, monitoring and managing Respect's local and wide area networks and server environments to ensure maximum uptime for users. The Network Administrator will also provide assistance to ensure the proficient day-to-day functioning of the IT department.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in all networking, Linux, and Windows server infrastructure.
    • Implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
    • Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, DNS and DHCP.
    • Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
    • Maximise network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
    • Arrange scheduled upgrades.
    • Investigate faults in the network.
    • Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
    • Support for all IT related incidents.
    • Respond to logged requests for IT support services in a timely and effective manner.
    • Direct third party vendors and guide remote technicians.
    • Ensure network quality and security.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge base documentation.
    • Contribute to team projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of the IT team.

Requirements

Essential:

    • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent IT certifications and/or substantial experience.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Willingness to travel interstate if needed
    • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).

The following technical knowledge is essential:

    • TCP/IP Networking.
    • VLANs
    • Virtual Private Networking.
    • Firewall/SDWan/Routing.
    • PABX/VoIP administration.
    • Linux Server Administration.
    • Storage Area Networking.
    • Cloud services.

Desirable:

    • Microsoft 2012/2016 Server.
    • Microsoft Active Directory.
    • Microsoft RDS 2012/2016.
    • Virtualisation Technology (ESXi, Hyper-V).
    • Antivirus Technologies.
    • Backup Technologies.
