Giant are hiring Senior Lighting & Compositing Artists for an exciting CG production.
Position Overview
This opportunity is a full-time position, with artists required to reside in the Republic of Ireland. We provide flexible working arrangements, including on-site, fully remote, or hybrid options.

Position Responsibilities
- Create Master Light rigs and assemble Lighting setups for Characters, Environments, & Props depending on the needs and chosen style of the show.
- Follow the Lighting and Comp Lead or Supervisor’s direction to match the established look-dev and standard of existing shots/frames.
- Manage the lighting and compositing team, acting second-in-line to Lead, providing guidance and mentorship to the team, particularly new joiners and junior Artists.
- Light 3D scenes to capture the mood and enhance storytelling under the direction of the Art Director, CG Supervisor, Departmental Supervisor, and Lead(s) to guide team members on complex shots, and assist in optimising workflow.
- Create high-quality renders of Characters, Props & Environments for internal and client approval throughout the process.
- Integrate rendered CG elements and layers in Comp and use compositing and artistic techniques to produce final shots.
- Assist in the creation or editing of shaders.
- Be cognizant of quotas/deadlines to ensure review points are properly prioritized.
- Help build Lighting presets, Nuke gizmos, and Comp library for the department and project(s).
- Collaborate with the Lighting and Comp Lead/Supervisor and CG Supervisor as well as Modelling and Surfacing departments to troubleshoot creative and technical issues when required.
- Participate in reviews as required.
- Communicate with the Production Team, Departmental Lead(s), Supervisors, and CG Supervisor on upcoming creative and technical challenges to help find a timely solution.
- Be proactive in helping guide and mentor teammates and think “out of the box” when troubleshooting and offer creative ideas.
- Balance quick turnarounds with achieving a high degree of aesthetic quality and being well aware of do’s and don’ts of the project.
- Maintain technical expertise and adjust to changing procedures and technologies and have a firm understanding of the project’s pipeline.
- Attend and actively participate in dailies, weeklies, and handout sessions.
- Manage to work on additional work as needed to alleviate less experienced team members.
- Have a clear understanding of the style, quality, continuity, technical, scheduling, and budgetary requirements of the Production.
- Maintain an open and professional demeanour when providing or taking directions, undertaking revisions, and altering approaches as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in TV Series Animation (CG) Production.
- Excellent visual skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail.
- Superior eye for Light, Shade, Colour, and detail.
- Good Knowledge of Maya, Nuke, and After Effects and deep understanding of comp gizmos.
- Experience with Arnold is a must, Redshift or Katana is a plus, and Look-Dev experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python, C++, scripting for Nuke, and Maya API is a plus.
- Experience with Shotgun/ShotGrid/FPT is a must.
- Experience with a render manager (Deadline a plus).
- Task-driven, Troubleshooter, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and take feedback and direction.
